Our mission is based on the Christ's commission as found in Matthew 28:18 – 20, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the Name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And surely I will be with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Our mission therefore is to execute Christ’s commission by focusing on multi-ethnic disciple-making, equipping Christians to be disciple-makers, seeking God in prayer and authentic worship, and striving to daily live victorious lives that will be attractive to the world, hence winning them for Christ.
This task of discipling the nations follows the church’s mission statement; “obedience to the Great commission by multi-ethnic disciple making, providing a loving and enabling atmosphere for spiritual growth fellowship, and seeking God in prayer and authentic worship”.This mission is summarized as “Making Disciples of all nations".
OUR VISION
Our vision, or dream is to have a vibrant multi-cultural church that is changing those inside and those outside. Those inside are transformed as God touches and transforms them through authentic praise and worship, through the life-changing power of the preached and taught Word of God, as people’s needs are met through genuine fellowship with one another, and as people’s faith grow as they see God move in answer to prayer. Those outside will be transformed as unbelieving non-churched and churched are brought to Christ by the disciples witnessing and by planting a church after every three years.
Executing the Vision
Our mission statement clearly spells out how the vision will be carried out. Disciple-making and small groups are key ministerial modalities in DFI. One other way of bringing our vision to pass is through partnerships. DFI seeks to partner with other churches that have the same vision of winning the lost for Christ. We seek to establish partnerships locally, regionally and even internationally.
