The Bible clearly lays the responsibility of the spiritual nurture of children in the hands of their parents. There is often the mistaken notion that a church's Sunday school exists to 'take over' the parents' responsibility, but attempting to nurture children spiritually by taking them to Sunday school 2 hours a week would be a poor strategy, as compared to multiple hours at home.
Our Children's Ministry therefore first aims at complementing the parents by facilitating them in their task, and then by teaching the children lessons that build on the foundation the parents have laid. Ultimately the aim is to enable the children to love God with all their 'heart, mind, soul, and strength' and to love their neighbors as themselves (Matt 22: 37 - 38). Some children however, do not come from homes where they are being spiritually nurtured, and so we also work hard at presenting the gospel in a clear manner that affords them an opportunity to know Christ as their Savior, and to grow in maturity.
