“Above all, love each other deeply because love covers a over a multitude of sins. Offer hospitality to one another without grambling” (1 Peter 4:9)
One of the main purposes of a church is to provide fellowship. There is no better way to have fellowship with one another than to eat together. Even Jesus showed this is an important part of salvation when he said in Revelation 3:20 “. . . and I will come into him and eat with him.”
This picture is also clearly portrayed by the New Testament church in Acts 2:46b “They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.”
Fully aware of the importance of hospitality in the church, here in DFI we occasionally have times of eating together. Additionally, each Sunday after service the hospitality ministry helps by providing and serving drinks and snacks for everyone to enjoy as we fellowship with one another. What a wonderful ministry!
