It's been rightly observed that when we pray, God sends His angels to us but when we praise, God cannot help but come down Himself. Why would this be so? Because praise and worship is basically blessing God. To bless is to speak well of, to lift, magnify. Do you see why God inhabits the praises of His people? That's why the scriptures say in 1 Peter 2:9,
But you a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light.
Praise, especially collective praise by the people of God is the most powerful tool in the church's arsenal, as it's clear from Psalms 149 5 - 9;
Let the saints be joyful in glory;
Let them sing aloud on their beds.
Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand, To execute vengeance on the nations, and punishments on the peoples;
To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron;
To execute on them the written judgment this honor have all His saints. Praise the LORD!
There is a written judgment against all the powers of darkness. The Bible says that Jesus triumphed upon them on the cross, making a public spectacle of them. The prince of this world has been judged but it's for the saints to declare that in praise of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and as we do that we execute that judgment and people are set free. That's why we thank God for our praise team that strives to lead us in yoke-breaking praise and worship that glorifies God.
